What's the Best Time to Schedule an Interview?

10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday. Here's why:

  1. Mondays and Fridays are "bookend" days, when employers are gearing up or down for the week. Using the same logic, you should avoid the first or last interview slots on any workday.
  2. Lunchtime appointments can affect an interviewer's concentration. Right before, he may be hungry; right after, he may be in a proverbial "food coma."
  3. In general, unless the employer is in a real hiring "crunch," research shows that your best interview times are late mornings, Tuesdays through Thursdays.
